jared's family planned a camping trip to the uintah this last weekend. we managed to get everyone in the family there and we all really enjoyed some well needed relaxation and some time with one another.
usually i spend all week long preparing for a camping trip. for this trip, quite honestly, i really didn't want to go. so i did absolutely nothing all week long to prepare. on friday, jared got up and we pretty much threw everything in the trailer and headed on our way. (oh by the way, we only had my parents enclosed trailer because we sold ours a month ago. which actually makes things more difficult because when i had a trailer it was pretty much always packed with the essentials. we just had to throw in food and clothing and we were on our way.)

we decided we would stop in evanston and buy our food at the walmart there on our way up. jared dropped me off at walmart with braylie, kasen, and lily while he went over to top off the truck. well a little while later, the kids and i were walking through walmart hoping to find jared when lo and behold we ran right into leslie, jared's mother, and addy. they told us the battery died in the truck and jared was on the other side of the store trying to buy a new battery.
it seems as if there is always something that happens when you go on a trip. the truck was taking quite some time to fix so we all hung out in the parking lot (children in the back of the truck). two hours later and after a little dinner from wendy's, we were finally on our way.
these two are the best of friends
we caught a fish with each cast.
family bonding time at lyman lake.
i am surprised we caught anything at all. we were not quiet one little bit (and somewhat annoying to the fellow fishermen down the bank).
addy was too scared to even touch the fish.
funny thing about this picture: ryan (top left) managed to fall into the lake just after i took this picture. the funniest part was his daughter making fun of him right after it happened. then paisley managed to go head first into the lake from the bank. the water had to be freezing, there was still snow right up to where we were.
braylie caught the biggest fish of the day. i think it was probably around 12" long.
here is the "lake lunker" with jared. right after this picture was taken the fish regurgitated the worm and fell back into the lake. lucky fish and lucky jared for not having to clean an extra fish.
leslie wanted family pictures in march when brady and laurel were here last. it didn't quite work out so she wanted to get some family pictures up camping. i think it was a great idea. you couldn't have found a more dirty, grungy group of people. but hey they turned out quite cute.
here is the beloved papa with some of his favorite girls.
pretty sure this is very illegal.
but this is the most content, quite mellow, happiest baby i have ever met.

we found some endangered frogs. they kept kasen busy for a while. (yes, it is in his tight fist and yes it did live when it was let go).
sweet grandchildren.
kendell, kolby, lily, addy, braylie, ashton, kaylee, paisley, and kasen.
9 grandchildren in all and one more on the way.
grandma & grandpa with the dirty little rascals.

this girl did not wear shoes the whole entire weekend. she walked everywhere in her bare feet. it was really unbelievable to me because i can not imagine going anywhere without my shoes.
the boys.
the girls (finally outnumber the boys).
the whole fam.
laurel, brady, and paisley
justin, kurt, and craig
darci, kaylee, ryan, and ashton

justin and katie (i thought i had a great family pic of their family but then i remembered i took it with their camera.)
jared and braylie went for a ride just before we loaded the last 4 wheeler to go home. they found this bull moose then took us all back to see him. this is what we looked like with our whole family piled on one 4 wheeler all together:

What a great family you have! This totally reminds me of the many camping trips our families used to go on when we were kids. Those were good times!
I'm so glad your trip turned out to be fun! I Love all the pictures. Especially the last one!! Talk to you soon.
Sounds like it turned out wonderfully. And I just love that last picture, so classic. Plus, catching that much fish? I am totally jealous.
