weaknesses

WARNING:  this post is long, so please don't feel like it must be read if you don't want to read it!  (i promise you won't hurt my feelings.)

so any of you who really know my dear sweet husband knows that he has a weakness.  it could also be considered a strength to many people in fact many people ask for his help in this area.  he is a ksl.com classified junkie.  this really didn't start with ksl, he has ALWAYS been a classified junkie.  well because he is always looking at the classifieds, he is always finding the next great deal.  he must really be needing a vacation because lately he has been looking at a new trailer.  he is always, once again, looking at the trailers but this time he found the trailer that he wanted on an ad for a sourdough lot ad (which we have owned and sold also).
this is the trailer in the ad for the sourdough lot.

anyhow, he has been begging, pleading, and bargining for my approval for buying another trailer.  it is not that i am against this sort of thing, it is just that i think the money should be spent elsewhere.  (i.e. the house, especially the project that was started 5 years ago and is still unfinished.)  well we have a big problem on our hands because see this:
yes i know it is a very nice truck.  well too bad we seem to have completely misplaced the keys.  they have been gone for a month now and this just happened to take place one week after jared commented that we should really get another set made just in case we loose the only ones we have.

well this big beautiful truck that you would really need to get a trailer home and you would need to move in order to have a place to put the said trailer was kind of putting a damper on the whole new trailer idea jared had in his mind.  i also told him that he would have to finish the taxes so we knew how much we would have to spend on the said trailer IF we were to get one.  all in all i didn't think this whole thing was going to take place anytime soon.

it just so happened that he contacted the people with the lot and asked if they were interested in selling the trailer also.  they told him sure and gave him a time almost a week away to come and look at it.  jared hounded me all weekend long for my approval for this whole thing and i just kept telling him about the truck and tax money.  monday morning when i got home from helping at the school, i found jared at the computer trying to figure out how much money we were getting back.

he hauled the girls and me up to brigham to "take a look" at the trailer.  this is code for buy it because we left there and were on our way to the bank to retrieve the money from savings to buy the thing.  he does this to me all the time.  he drags me out and makes me fall in love with it and want it and go along with his hair brained ideas, even when it seems that i put my foot down.

so after he spent lots and lots of money, the money we have yet to receive, i made him take us to lunch and the brigham d.i.  these were our awesome finds for the day:

i love how her hair is bouncing while she shows me how her new shoes light up.

these were the best two dollars i have ever spent for a kid!!

this is not the actual lampshade i bought but it is very similar.  i had the old fabric ripped off within 5 minutes of getting home.  i have really great plans for this.  it will hang in the girls room when i am finished with it.
this purchase is my very favorite.  it was a whole $5 and i wasn't sure that i really needed it but jared talked me into buying it.  i love it so much, aren't the casters so cute?  oh and it has a cork board on the other side.  it wasn't until i got home and began to plan for this little beauty that i realized that i also have a weakness.  apparently i really like boards.  especially boards that keep information for me.  for example:
#35 finish chalkboards
my new chalkboard that has a new home above the dishwasher in the kitchen.
i am truly embarrassed that i am showing this one.  this is the white board in the laundry room.  it has been amazing but it needs an overhaul.  it is #42 on the 101 in 1001 list.
this is my magnetic chalkboard in the playroom.  jared was thinking the new chalkboard would replace this one but i really love this chalkboard.  it is flush with the wall and it is very well loved as you can tell. i still need to put the frame around it.
my kids each have had some kind of information board in their rooms.  these are the ones in braylie's.  they are magnetic and can hold a lot of information as you can tell.
i also have a very large cork board to hang in my craft room.  it doesn't have anything on it because i just need to hang it up.  i need to hang my 101 in 1001 list on it so i can keep track of what i need to do.
kasen had one in his room but it was promptly broken during a tantrum at some point.  i think i will give him this old one from the little girls room.  my awesome new chalkboard is going to find it's new home in their room when i am finished with it.

p.s. did you know that if you call the dealership, you can take the vin # and the license plate number in and have new keys made for a small fee?  it wasn't cheap but i am sure it was cheaper than calling a locksmith.

Ha, this was fun to read and definitely worth it especially for the tip at the end, I had no idea!

You missed the part of the purchasing of a trailer the other day while I was checking out your new finds! (See what happens when you get a job...you read all the good stuff on a blog). ;)

Props to Jared for talking you into buying your new find.

BTW- I have always noticed your fascination with boards! You're the reason I have a board in the kitchen.
