amazing examples to me

i am trying to find a good picture of my parents together. this is my aunt, my mom, and me at archibald's restaurant in gardner's village a few months ago.
i just want to take a moment and talk about two people in my world who i look up to more than anything...my parents. my mom and dad are truly loving giving people who worry more about others than they do themselves. last wednesday our family was hit with a truly "defining moment." we had been told it might happen but never really thought that it would. it really turned my parents world upside down for a moment and affected all of their children.

well needless to say we were all upset, which i think lead to a really awful migraine on thursday. i called my mom and although she had been on an emotional rollar coaster that day and the day before, she came and retrieved my children right away. she kept them for about 4 hours while i rested and tried to regain "normal" again. what a great service she gave to me. i am so thankful for my mom's constant kindness and concern for her family. she is so christ-like always.

my dad is also an amazing person. he is one of the smartest people i know. i hope he knows that he is truly the most amazing father anyone could ever ask for. i love him with all my heart.

on friday, my mom and dad were off to my sister's house six hours away to spend the weekend with her and her family. friday was kalie's birthday and when i called her she sounded exhausted, emotional, and completely worn down. she has been organizing a 5k race in her town set for saturday. she also has been trying to prepare her booth to sell vinyl at the fair in her town that weekend. she was completely fried. i told her not to worry, help was on her way (in the form of good ole' mom and dad). i know they all really helped each other get through the rough weekend and emotional times together. i wish i could be there with all of them. they are all my heros and i love them all more than words can say.

my parents are awesome. they are so strong. they are so loving. they are so christ-like. i am so thankful for their tremendous example to me and my family. i am thankful that our family is healthy and active in the church. it helps to know that heavenly father has a plan for us and we just need to put our trials into his hands. our family will be fine and will get through this "defining moment" over time. we will all become stronger from this experience.

What a rough week. Daniel called me right after he'd heard the news. He was completely shocked and a wreck too...although nothing compared to what you've gone through. I'm sorry for you guys. God has a plan though as you are full aware and that's all that gets me through my toughest times. Call me when you need to rest from your kids, my kids crave time with other kiddos and we don't have friends who ever come to play:( Our home is always welcome to your kids and you. I think we need a therapeutic crafting day...maybe once a month.

I am so sorry to hear things aren't going so well right now. But I am so glad that you have such a strong family to help support each other. When times are tough it makes me so so grateful for the gospel and to know that things will all work out in the end. Give me a call when you are up to it and lets chat.
