spring break emails

hey you!!

i just thought i would send you an email and let you know how much i love and appreciate you.  you are so supportive of me and the kids coming to kalie's this weekend.  thank you for letting me be me and letting me do all the crazy things i do.  sometimes i think that is what helps me stay sane and i am so thankful that you love me no matter what.

i stole some cd's from my mom's house and listened to them on the way down here.  they are kind of like a workshop for married people with john lund.  he is a lds marriage counselor.  the cd's are amazing.  i was thinking it would be so fun to have a once a week date night and listen to them together.  i don't know, just a thought.  maybe when you are out from school for the summer.  anyhow, i have already learned a lot from them.

the kids and i are really enjoying ourselves here.  the girls went to gymnastics with olivia and brad this morning.  lily and maddy have been playing so well together and kasen has found a box of legos that are keeping him extremely busy.  kalie and i are going to make a groceries sign this morning.  she has found a way to help me make the picture frames that i want for the front room wall.  i am so excited.  she wants to make them with me.  i sure do wish she lived closer to us.

i hope you are able to get some studying done this weekend.  i know you will do well on your tests.  i have complete faith in you.

we had a old fashion little girls on the prairie dance recital.

well it is friday.  it has been quite eventful here.  kalie's thursdays are very crazy.  olivia has gymnastics, then science class, then girls on the run, then soccer practice.  this is all from about 10:00 to 6:00.  she wasn't even home for most of the day.  i think kalie spends her day just running her from place to place.  i ended up taking addy, aubree, lily, and maddy to the grocery store.  then i made pizza for dinner when we got home.  i had the worst headache that ended up turning into a migraine.  i finally went out to the van and laid the seat back to try and get rid of it.  it was the only quiet place i could find.  my mom, dad, shay, and her kids came late last night.  

well kalie, shay, and i are going to go yard saleing now.  maybe i will find a few treasures.  i hope so.  i miss you so much.  dad asked if i was missing you this morning and it made me feel a little bit melancholy.  i wish you could have come with us.  it really is nice here in the country.  it makes me forget all my worries.  i haven't had that choking sensation one time since i have been here.  i hope you are getting some studying done.  i hope it helps that it is quiet there.  i know you are going to do well on your tests.  good luck.

this was the location of one of our yard sales.  it literally was on the other side of the tracks.

there were 4 very large sheds full of junk.  the ad stated it was like "american pickers."  it was except it was missing the really great stuff.

shay found a really cute suitcase and when she asked the girl how much the girl told her $10.  shay laughed and said she would maybe give her a dollar.  the girl then said she would only charge her "like $5."  shay laughed again and started to put it down when a boy came along and told shay to ask r.j.  she found r.j. who only charged her $1.  when she came back the girl asked how much he charged her and then proceded to tell shay she really was only going to charge her $.75.  kalie and i were laughing so hard behind her we could hardly contain ourselves.

this was seriously an empty shed compared to the other ones.  really they should just call the dump.

Sorry about the migrane. Its probably from all those kids screaming constantly. Its definately quiet here, almost too quiet. We got almost an inch of snow with more expected today and tomorrow. Studying is okay I got a little in for math yesterday and I will make my cue sheet today and take the math test. I still need to study for statics. Maybe tonight although I am supposed to go back to work as well. Work makes it difficult. Well see what happens. Hope you found some treasures yard selling. I love you and miss you, give the kids a hug and kiss for me. talk to you soon.

kalie had two bad cankers.  she was screaming through her teeth after she put some canker medicine on it.  it made her drool so much.  the rest of us were laughing so hard at her.  sorry kalie.

i thought i would tell you about the going ons around here.  so things have been quite eventful here today.  my dear parents treated us all to breakfast this morning.  it was delicious.  the kids had pancakes and bacon.  i ordered the largest breakfast burrito you have ever seen.  i really wish my camera batteries weren't dead.  it would have been fun to take a picture of it.  it had eggs, chorizo sausage, avocado, pico de gallo, cheese and hashbrowns all wrapped up in the most delicious tortilla then topped with chile verde with more sausage in it.  it was as large as a dinner plate and it was so good.  

after breakfast, we went over to paeonia to go to livvy's soccer game.  the drive was so beautiful!!  it was through the countryside and it was the most winding road you have ever been on.  at one point, lily was telling me that her tummy wasn't feeling good and i was worried some of the kids were getting car sick.  it was so enjoyable.  the kids played their ds's and lily fell asleep.  i rocked out to deana carter and enjoyed the countryside.  it makes me want to live here and buy an old farm house with some land.  it is so beautiful and once again i wish that i had my camera.

the soccer game was so cold and windy.  lily was asleep in the car so i told kalie that i was going to sit in the car with her.  i took eden for shay because she was asleep and i was looking forward to some peace and quiet.  i was going to start that book "agent bishop" and sip on my diet dr. pepper.  it didn't take long (maybe 10 minutes) before the car was full of children who were freezing.  braylie was in there with me and was getting into everything she could find.  i think she was bored.  kasen and aubree were the only ones who made it through most of the game and they spent their time building forts and hiding from the wind under the blankets.  towards the last fifteen minutes they made their way to the car too and i had every child in the van with me, except olivia.

then they all had to go to the bathroom at once and so did i.  i ran to the port-a-potty first because i didn't think i could hold it.  then i took maddy.  when i came out, i had to move the van because the game was over and i was blocking a lady's car who seemed to waiting for me to move.  i got in the car, drove down the lane, then came back, and brad and i took addy and aubree.  after that we got back on the road, i heard kasen hit addy with his ds.  i pulled over so fast and jumped in the back and grabbed his ds.  i think it was the best idea because after that him and addy fell asleep and had a great nap on the way home.  lily talked my ear off until i gave her the rest of my soda.

when we got home my mom and dad organized an egg hunt.  it was so fun to watch the kids run around and try to find eggs.  lily and maddy were a hoot.  it took a minute for them to figure out what they were doing but when they had caught on they were running all over shouting to the adults in the room where the next egg they found was and the nearest adult was supposed to get it for them.  kasen was so not into the hunt.  he was the very last one to get all of his eggs.  the last egg, that we knew of (we lost one in the hunt), was in the back of brad's shirt.  dad was giving him clues like "it is constantly moving" and "the hunchback of notre dame" but he didn't really seem to be into it.  finally, all the kids took brad down and knocked eden over in the process of retrieving the egg.  after it was all said and down, addy came to me telling me she thought she had found the lost egg and that it was in the pile of already opened eggs.  it had five dollars in it and after we made sure everyone had the money they found, we told her she was the winner.  the kids had a blast. 

we had ham and potatoes for dinner.  i finished the i spy bags that i had set out to redo.  i called you then bathed all the kids and managed to braid braylie's, lily's, addy's, emery's, olivia's and aubree's hair.  we watched ramona and beezus during the braiding.  kasen enjoyed his bath in kalie's very large bathtub.  it was quite the productive night.

my mom, dad, shay, and kalie are now playing the scrabble piece game.  brad is trying to write his talk for tomorrow.  i managed to talk everyone into milkshakes the last two nights so kalie just made us one.  i have no idea what is in it.  i think i tasted some snickers and oreos.  it is delicious.

i miss you so much.  i am sad that i have missed a whole weekend with you.  i am really looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.  so are the kids.  i love you so much and i hope you can sleep better tonight.  good night.

Wow, I felt like I was reading our blog. That must have taken quite awhile to type, then again you are a fast typer so maybe not so long. Sounds like you have had a fun but busy weekend. The breakfast burrito sounds great compared to my two frozen waffles this morning. Definitely jealous. Did you eat the whole thing? I miss you all a lot, it is too quiet around here and maybe one of the reasons why I am having trouble sleeping. You know how I am when I hear noises. I am really looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow evening. I wish I could have come with you the easter egg hunt sounds fun. I love you so much please be careful coming home tomorrow. I hope the thing doesn't fall off the bottom of the van again. Too bad i don't have Monday off to spend the day with you all, but at least I will be home for awhile. I'm glad you were able to get away and see your sister for awhile. So should we buy a farm or what? You sound like you are ready to move. Anyways I love you I will see you tomorrow.
