eight is great!!

we told braylie years ago that she could not get her ears pierced until she was eight. she had been counting down the days until that time for months and the day was finally here. i always take the kids out of school on their birthday for lunch and shopping, so braylie, jared, and i made our way to the mall for lunch at chick-fil-a and to claires for earpiercing. braylie was so excited but a little scared. she was so tough. her eyes teared up a little bit after the earing went through but she said it didn't hurt. what a day!!later that night we had her family birthday party. you can tell from the picture that november because i still have my happy halloween banner up but we also managed to put up the christmas tree. we are so festive. braylie was sure spoiled on her birthday. she received a new dress for her baptism, a violin, a cupcake maker, some pet shops, several new outfits, and at least a hundred other new toys and books.
a couple of days after her birthday we had her friend party. we had a fancy nancy birthday party. the girls came in their fanciest outfits (they were hilarious). we painted fingernails, made fancy purses, made fancy hair accessories, learned how to walk and talk fancy, and ate parfaits. it was so much fun.

braylie was baptized on december 6, 2008. she was so beautiful. grandma gave her a new white baptism dress to wear after her baptism. jared gave her the most beautiful confirmation blessing i have ever heard. it was such a special day.

braylie, i am so proud of the decision you have made to be baptized. it is the most important decision you have made so far in your life. you are such a special little person in my life. i love the little moments we get to spend together talking and sharing important times in our lives. you are such a great example to your little brother and sisters. they really look up to you and want to be like you. you are always reminding our family of the important things we should do in life. i love that you never forget family home evening. i love watching you when you have accomplished something great or even when you are so excited about something. your face lights right up and your smile is forever big. you are one of the most loving people i know. you are always good to help me whenever i need it and you are so responsible with things around the house. i am so proud of the way you have grown up so far. you are getting so big and that makes me sad, but i am also excited to see you grow into the beautiful young woman you are becoming. i love you so much and i will always be here for you whenever you need anything.
